Congrats on reaching 500! I love the first 2 outfits, they are just barely Office Appropriate, exactly on the line. perfection! In fact, I appreciate and enjoy all the fits. And the boys are so big and grown-up looking now!
Yay!! Congrats on reaching 500, Sheila, you really deserve it! This was such an awesome week of outfits; I saw the first look and immediately thought it would be my favourite, and then you brought out menswear with tulle and I just couldn’t decide anymore 😂
The menswear/feminine juxtaposition you’ve got going on with the tailoring and ballet-esque skirt is perfect. You really outdo us all in the tulle department!
Aaaaand of course I also LOVED the Tangerine Jill skirt outfit… I was over the moon to see it included the gold and black floral brooch that you previously acquainted me with 🤩 so much good stuff, as always!
Thank you, Maddy! Not being able to choose is the highest compliment! Tulle has become my thing in the last couple of years, maybe it’ll be trendy one of these days? 😁 I love the friction of the masc/femme looks.
Right! I’d forgotten about wearing that brooch, but it was perfect for the day. My friends loved checking out all the pieces in my outfit.💕
So appreciative of your lovely comments and support.
The tulle is awesome; I can see why you’ve got a thing for it now! It’s one of those materials I’ve always loved the look of but would require some experimentation to style for everyday occasions. Always up for a challenge, though!
Happy Vacation and Happy Birthday to Logan. Love your office inappropriate mermaid denim on so many levels! Continue to spread joy with your poetic fashion style. Big hugs
Woohoo for dressing like YOU rather than dressing for, say, someplace like work. ;-) That feeling of being dressed exactly the way you want, where each piece feels just right, is the best nod to one's sartorial sense. I don't get those outfit 'feels' as much now as when I worked. Getting dressed and adorned for work was like getting to choose the most fun, interesting and comfortable costume that empowered. As a teacher I know for a fact that the children (often, but not exclusively, girls) notice what their teachers wear. Once, in my very last winter of my very last teaching position, I had the 'audacity' to wear a pair of pants two days in a row. Well, I heard about that from three girls who not only pointed it out but wanted to know why!
My new dilemma - what to wear as a mother of the groom to a PNW wedding in a small arboretum/farm on a Saturday late afternoon. I'm enjoying the process of comparing notes with the bride's Mom.
Yuh, this isn't exactly a comment on your substack post…I somehow got off on a tangent based on my first sentence. Have decided to leave it all as it is because I like the sense of having a conversation with you. :-) (Plus I've already commended on your blog post for the DOI.)
Ah, dear Laurie, what a lovely comment, as always, thank you!🥰 I love that your students checked out your style—teachers are an early source of inspiration!—and gave you the business (haha).
If you’re going to be outside, be prepared for wind. Have a big shawl or pashmina to wrap yourself in.💕
No worries, all good, all tangents welcome! Much love to you and Fred!
Sounds like you're having the best staycation! I love a DOI, I try to have them at least a few times a year. And I love so many of the pieces here! The menswear, the cobalt and orange, and the skirts! You make fashion so fun 🌈
So many fun looks! Obsessed with the Zara sparkles (I thought it was vintage!), the tulle and the metallic pleats, and omg your Welsh cape! Love how you pinned the brooches on it, too. So much inspo!
Love the DOI idea...though I'm indolent most every day. I really hate schedules and such. I am now tied to a calendar as my husband goes through physical therapy for a newly replaced hip (actually it a second newly replaced hip). Man oh man (am I dating myself here)...so many really cool looks this week! I love it all. You are definitely one of my style icons. And, when I look in the mirror and think, "Sheila would wear this," I know I've got it right! Hey, wanna link up your 'stack on my link party...don't know if you do those? It's Fashion Files and happens every Tuesday! Congrats on 500 Substackers! That's pretty daggone cool!
Ha, it’s a state of mind more than the actual lack of planning! Hopefully it won’t fade away as we all start to retire.
Thanks so much for the awesome comment and support, Marsha! I hope you enjoy the journey yourself! 💕 I just don’t have the bandwidth to do much commenting like I used to, sorry! I’m very neglectful of my own blog comments these days.
Love seeing that new skirt in action!
Thanks, Susan! Isn’t it fun? I can’t wait to wear it again!💕

Thank you! 💕I do work in a pretty relaxed office, almost anything goes! So glad you enjoyed the fits! I know, where has the time gone?

Yeah, it’s tricky for every day, does require “commitment to the part” and a dollop of DGAF.😁 Start with a tee and sneakers. 🤘
Will do!
That confetti leather skirt!? Wowza!! You have such a lovely lovely life ♥️
Isn’t it cool? Very much NOT leather, however (that would be boggling).💕 I am grateful for the life I have…we have worked hard together for it.
The DOI sounds like a great thing! And congrats on 500 yay!!
It is a wonderful thing, Sita, thanks! I’m amazed that that many people want to read my work. Wow. 😮 🥰
Love the Craig Morrison bug bag Sheila! 😍
Thanks, Greg!
I love the DOI and I will steal it. I may also find away to snaffle that skirt too. Congratulations on your 500. Calls for another lavender lemonade x
Yay, do it, do it! Haha, you’ll have to come and steal it from my closet, Margaret!
Eh, the lavender lemonade was wildly overpriced and not that good. Thanks so much!💕
I love all of these outfits (what else is new!!) and I’m definitely stealing your Day of Indolence, such a beautiful idea 😉
That’s what I’m here for, Hope! Steal away, get inspired! 💕 Thank you for being here.
Happy Vacation and Happy Birthday to Logan. Love your office inappropriate mermaid denim on so many levels! Continue to spread joy with your poetic fashion style. Big hugs
Thanks so much, Stephanie! I’m glad that outfit resonated with you! I shall indeed continue! Hugs back.🥰💕

It’s so low-key but so needed to recharge my battery! Thanks for your kind comment, Maria!🌈
I regret the sticky lip gloss every single time.
WHY IS IT EVEN MADE? Is it a fiendish plot to make us eat our hair? 😳
🥰💕
Epic looks as always. Congratulations on the milestone and have a wonderful holiday!
Thanks so much, Rebekah, and 🥹 thank for the restack!💕
Congrats on 500! You deserve 50000 more. (Love Red Tunic Outfit!!)
Thanks, Cheryl, that’s my favourite too! 💕 Aw, appreciate you!🤘
So many fun looks! Obsessed with the Zara sparkles (I thought it was vintage!), the tulle and the metallic pleats, and omg your Welsh cape! Love how you pinned the brooches on it, too. So much inspo!
Right? And it’s a sweater inside, not a jacket! Glad you enjoyed! Love that you’re inspired, Fawnia! Pile on those brooches!💕
