In which I answer questions from my wonderful readership (ahem, that's you), while still doing all the same stuff I usually do: wear wacky outfits and do fun things!
Congrats on the milestone! :) Love the band tee, and movie star wraps! Also props for holding out so long for getting a phone - a feat in this society!
Thank you, JoAnn! Ha, yes, we held out till the bitter end - both of us were forced to get iPhones for work and then it was mere months later that we got our own. I'm glad we waited - it made me much more aware of how quickly they integrate into your life.
Tracy, my dear friend! Thank you so much for the kind comment and for reading. Hope I'll be seeing you at Marian's next month! I know you love the pool.
Well done you, namesake! Although I can't pull off big and baggy outfits at 5'0, I love using color like you do! I have a big personality despite my size, and carry off bold colors very well, thank you very much!😉 I really enjoy how you make what doesn't seem at first glance to work together, become a real statement. Rock on, girlie!
Thank you so much, namesake, hee hee! I'm 5'4" not exactly a giant, and I'm curvier than the standard willowy folks who carry that stuff off. I like oversized, but it has to be just right, as I'm sure you know. I know my style is not to everyone's taste, but at least I'm trying!
Congrats on your 100th newsletter! I enjoyed living vicariously through your meetup with Maria and your brooch styling. +3 on hearing more about your style evolution ❤️
SO MANY GREAT OUTFITS to celebrate this milestone! Congratulations on 100!!
I loved the Monday stripes, and the subtle theme you created with the sea maiden shoes and fish necklace, and the whole Saturday brunch look with red and black and summer goth vibes. And of course that tulle skirt was an incredible acquisition; the dark floral print works so well with the ballet/goth-ish mashup aesthetic going on!
Aw, you are so sweet, Maddy, thank you so much! I always have fun playing with different combinations...and old favourites too! Yup, expect to see that floral tulle skirt in next week's newsletter!
Oh, lovely, thank you for checking it out, Lin! I felt a little bad for just referring Susan to a post I'd already written, but it WAS right there. Thank you so much - I'll have some late 90s outfits next week.
100!! I didn't even know about Substack until this year, I think. I really should be posting more. Just another thing to learn, but that's a good thing! Reducing your closet by 50%...well, I know where a certain skirt that appeared on a magazine cover can go! Hint, not so subtle hint! I get your newsletter, I think, but I must have missed the part about questions. I hope you do another one!
I heard about it in late 2023, and followed a few people just by email. Then I realized that the subscription model would really help grow my audience so much better than the "no option" of Blogger.
Ha, nice try there, Marsha! That skirt is staying with me! But yes, I do want to reduce it all before I retire, get some of my pieces to my young colleagues. I'll do another question series at some point - that was fun. But you can always ask me anything.
I live for that juxtaposition of tough and soft, LC, thank you!
Mom "discovered" my blog in 2020, when we started getting together for our Mom-Days during the pandemic. She loves reading the comments from my regulars, and "steals" my pictures (lol) to send to her friends. She's even been recognized! "Are you Sheila's mom?" She was on cloud 9 for a week after that!
Congrats on the 100th! I’m with you on the toteme shirt…great for $35 but few things are worth designer prices unless as you said they’re handloomed by fairies under a magic tree at midnight. The Star Wars shoes are amazing and I hope they cured you of that bad work day. Here’s to many hundred more newsletters!
100th post, Sheila! Thanks for sharing your magic and accessories here. I love your snippets of life with Logan, the kitties, your chums and of course, your mama.
I love, love, LOVE your Acqua & Limone skirt, from House of Savoy, and those butter yellow new pointy flats of yours remind me so much of my own preloved Aeyde flats in exactly same colour.
Great finds, Sheila!!!
And how wonderful to find a fellow Substacker in your own backyard 😃🫶🏼
I do too - it's a gorgeous skirt with a great shape (and pockets!). I thought of you when I saw those shoes drop - I'm sure John's seen the Aeyde flats! I'm excited to play with them - your creativity is inspiring!
Isn't that the coolest? I do often feel like I'm alone on my island (well, Pamela Anderson is here, but she's not exactly someone I'd run into).
Omg! Pamela lives there too! 😃 you do know she is on Substack, right? The two of you need to meet so much - just like you did the other day with another local fellow Substacker.
Thank you so much, Janet! Yes, what is up with no seating? That's a hardship to me! I can't stand all day! Glad I'm not the only one who feels like that!
Woo congrats on 100! I'm so glad your feet made it on Tuesday because I loved meeting you! And lol I'm going to have to borrow enthusiastic communicator for Perlita 😂
I think this was a really great shoe week for you, not that I don't love the clothes too! That watery pleated skirt is gorgeous and I actually used to have a top and jacket with those tube beads (never knew what to call them!) but eventually they all fell off 😔 I'm glad yours have stuck!
I briefly considered changing shoes, but I'm glad you got to be the first to see them, Maria! Lol, that's totally Perlita's title, Enthusiastic Communicator!
Aw, thank you! I tend to just grab whatever works for the outfit, and not overthink it. How cool you had something similar - one of the pockets of the vest has all the tubes that have fallen off in it, lol.
Congrats on the milestone! :) Love the band tee, and movie star wraps! Also props for holding out so long for getting a phone - a feat in this society!

Always impressed with everything you post and write. That tie is epic!

You don't try, you do!💕
Congrats on your 100th newsletter! I enjoyed living vicariously through your meetup with Maria and your brooch styling. +3 on hearing more about your style evolution ❤️
Thank you so much, Tina! It was so fun to meet someone who also lives here!
I'll be covering a little bit of my style evolution (the early Logan Years) in next week's newsletter.
SO MANY GREAT OUTFITS to celebrate this milestone! Congratulations on 100!!

Waiting in anticipation for next week’s newsletter!!
Really enjoying reading and nosying through that wardrobe swap over post. Happy 100th newsletter and I’m looking forward to your style evolution post.

Congratulations! 🙌 I love your energy and joyful approach to style. Here’s to the next 100 and more!
Thank you, Xue!
I love the juxtaposition of the stompy yellow Docs and the splashy skirt! And that your mom reads your blog 🖤
I live for that juxtaposition of tough and soft, LC, thank you!

Sheila’s Mom, Local Celebrity!
She totally loved it.🥰

Thank you so much, Danielle! It went so fast!
Oh, that's just a silly price for a shirt. I could see a couple hundred - I mean, it IS a nice shirt! - but a thousand? That's just ridiculous.
Star Wars shoes always help.
Hear, hear!
Here’s to 100, and to 100 more! PS, I love you calling out that the thousand dollar Toteme shirt is… just a shirt like any other 🤷♀️
Thank you so much, Angela! As long as I'm having fun, another 100 should be doable!
Lol, like I said to Danielle above, that's just a silly price. You're paying for the name!
100th post, Sheila! Thanks for sharing your magic and accessories here. I love your snippets of life with Logan, the kitties, your chums and of course, your mama.
Aw, thank YOU for being here, Elaine! I'm so glad you enjoy reading - I'm a bit of a "kitchen sink" writer (let's throw it all in there!).
I love, love, LOVE your Acqua & Limone skirt, from House of Savoy, and those butter yellow new pointy flats of yours remind me so much of my own preloved Aeyde flats in exactly same colour.

Pam Anderson is indeed here on the Substack, but we’re not in the same circles, but I am gonna be meeting up with another reader very soon.💕
Congratulations, and here's to the next 100! 🥂
Thank you so much, Jules!
Happy 100th! Loved the Substack meetup and the Rainy Goth outfit. And I hear you about the big crowd/no seating situation. I need a chair! 🤣
Thank you so much, Janet! Yes, what is up with no seating? That's a hardship to me! I can't stand all day! Glad I'm not the only one who feels like that!
